Sony Vaio VPCEC3S0E 17.3

This is the VPCEC 3 S0E although what the difference is I have no idea. 8Gb RAM, 500Gb hard disk, nice screen, not the best graphics card, nothing in the box by way of a manual, and NO WINDOWS DISK although this may be somewhere on the hard drive. If the thing crashes in the meanwhile, I have no way of restoring it and will have to start again. Comes with a 60 day trial of Macafee which lasts 5 days only (must have been factory installed 55 days before I bought it!!!! which totally SUCKS BIG TIME. Macafee then kicks and screams while you try to uninstall it and put Windows essentials on instead. It resets it''s screen resolution from time to time, which is a pain, and somehow the mouse pad movement is set up to re zoom the screen, but no manual, so hard to figure out how to stop it. The biggest disappointment is no firewire port. I have music hardware that needs firewire, and coming from an Apple Mac backgound I kind of expected it to have firewire and didn''t check before I bought it - but that''s my fault. It has a great screen, a very good keyboard, but the battery you get with it is INADEQUATE for the machine but you can buy a better one from Sony (why not include the correct battery?) If the included Multiwhatsit DVD is Blu Ray it certainly does not indicate that anywhere in the packaging or in the software setup, I suspect it is not Blu Ray. All in all for £1090 it wasn''t a good buy. If you can get it discounted to say £799 you''d be doing well.
