The Sony Bravia KDL-32NX503 is one of the most attractive TVs we have reviewed. It has a seamless glass front with the frame tucked neatly behind to leave you with a simply stunning screen. The stand compliments the screen with its slim foot and short stand creating a chic, trendy look. Sony call this the Monolithic Design.
But looks apart, this range has all the connections you need, with four HDMI inputs for all your devices to be connected at the same time, such a Blu-ray player, games console, home theatre etc. It also has a USB port for playback of photos, music and video, Bravia Internet Video for online movie access, and is Wi-Fi ready for further connectivity.
Now down to the image performance. This range has been plied with the Bravia Engine 3 which optimises image quality, provides optimal contrast, and true-to-life colours. We thought colours were displayed well, but not to the best of Sony's ability. This model seems to have more focus on connectivity than the actual image result. Obviously, we understand it is from the Network range, but the image is the ultimate reward and in this case it is slightly lacking. But, by no means poor.
The 50Hz image processor is the most likely cause for this with fast action scenes having slight image blur in comparison to those in the Sony range with a 100Hz processor.
If you like to be connected and have the world at your fingertips, this model is perfect. The slight lack in image detail is a minimal problem as images are still of a high standard. A fair price for a great TV.
Sony KDL-40NX503 LCD TV
or the Sony KDL-32EX503 LCD TV is also a similar price from the Essentials range with more attention to images.
