Canon MP560 won''t borderless print on A5!
The Canon Pixma MP560 is a lovely looking printer, with an excellent interface and great build quality. You feel like you have your hands on a really nice piece of kit. Set-up is really easy too.
But.
I create and print my own greeting cards from photos. I like to use A5 photo card folding to A6, and print borderless so that the image fills the card. I have been doing this for years on an HP all-in-one. We had to move that printer to a different location, so I bought the Canon MP560 to print cards - and photos in other formats too, but mainly cards.
It can''t do it. The Canon printer driver drastically reduces the paper size options as soon as you select borderless printing, and A5 is NOT one of the remaining options. To quote Canon support "With reference to your enquiry regarding the MP560, it is correct that from the Canon software it is not possible to print an A5 picture borderless." That implies that perhaps you can use e.g. Photoshop to get around this limitation, but because it is the driver itself that limits the paper choices, you can''t do it.
So DO NOT buy this printer if you think you might want to do borderless printing on A5 paper.
