Avoid the Hoover VHW654
I purchased this product as it was recommended by Which?, had a good number of settings for wash and dry and was not too epxensive. I usually agree with Which? however, all I can imagine is that Which? didnt keep this product for over 12 months. At 13 months my Hoover VH"654, a washer drier, started to develop problems. The first problem was with the LED display - you select the wash you want using the dial and this is then shown on the display and then you push the ''door shut'' button to start the wash. However, once the dial was put in place, the wash shown on the display kept jumping around from one wash setting to another, sometimes showing no setting at all. The second problem that developed on this Hoover Washer drier - the VHW654 - was that the drier stopped drying. I think that the heater broke which prevented the clothes from drying. Hoover wouldnt/couldnt tell me if these are common faults, but as the mcahine is 13 months old and outside of the 12 month warranty, it will cost me £110 to call and engineer out. If youare condiering the Hoover VHW654 I would recommend that you choose something else or purchase an extended warranty.
