A review of the Sony 46 inch Z5500 LCD TV

The Z5500 range from Sony has a typical Bravia feel to it and looks wise, it's not the most exciting but it looks good, solid and stylish. The depth is great for wall mounting at only 86mm.

Features

Sony never fail to disappoint when it comes to features on their LCD TV's and the Z5500 range is no exception with a Full 1080p HD resolution, Motionflow 200Hz with Image Blur reduction, Bravia Engine 3, Live Colour Creation, 100,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 10-bit panel, DLNA connectivity, AppliCast, 4 HDMI outputs, USB Media Player, Bravia Sync, Scene Select, and Picture Frame Mode. Sony impress by including environmentally friendly settings which will also save you money on your electricity bill. The Eco Settings have a variety of settings which can be adjusted to reduce power consumption and The Energy Saving Switch which ensures that no energy is used when on standby as other TV's do.

Performance
S Force Front Surround delivers amazing sound and is one of the first things you notice, that even without a surround sound system connected, the sound is forced towards you and adds a great depth to the viewing experience. As far as image performance is concerned, we very rarely have any problems with Sony's TV collection and the Z5500 is no exception. Images are displayed immaculately with stunning colour reproduction, absolute minimal image noise, deep true blacks, natural skin tones and amazing detail. All thanks to the 200Hz processing system.

Overall Opinion
A stylish design, great features and a faultless performance. What's not to like? The Z5500 range from Sony gets a big thumbs up from us.
