The design of the new Toshiba 42 inch Regza ZV635D LCD TV range is outstanding with a unique glass like finish giving it ultimate class and style. The stand adds strength to a slim design although on the large side for a TV of such elegance.

Toshiba's list of features keeps on growing with improved technology with each and every range, they so proudly, launch. The ZV series offers Active Vision M200HD picture processing with 200Hz to deliver the sharpest and smoothest images. This works alongside Toshiba's Meta Brain technology which is a processing chip which acts as the brain of the TV and drives the other features to get the best from them, such as Resolution+ and AutoView. Resolution+ allows the TV to display standard definition images at near high definition quality and AutoView has an light sensor which adjusts the TV's backlight accordingly to produce the correct level of light on the screen. There are also two environmentally friendly features, Full Power Down which allows the TV to be turned off completely rather than being left on standby and Eco Panel which is a specially designed panel which uses less power that an average LCD panel.

| Toshiba's technology provides an outstanding image. Colours are produced brilliantly with smooth movements and no motion blur that we could detect. Detail is fine with natural skin tones being retained and looking very real. Blacks were ok, but showed slight grey areas and lost detail in some scenes. Adjusting the settings did slightly improve this but quality was then lost in other areas. It seems nothing is perfect!! We very often come across the same problems when it comes to sound. Sound through the TV itself is mediocre, but when pumped through a home entertainment system, it just doesn't compare. |
