| The first thing you notice with the Philips 37PFL8404 LCD TV is the unique design that Philips have perfected. Instead of the usual square black frame, this range has nice rounded edges creating a softer and more modern look. The glossy black finish adds class and the glossy stand is solid, although attracts dust quite easily. With a depth of only 88mm, this LCD TV looks great wall mounted to make the most of Ambilight or just as great on its stand. |

| The Ambilight Spectra feature with Philips TV's is a massive selling point, highlighting colours from the screen onto the wall behind and therefore making the screen appear larger. A full HD resolution of 1920x1080 is on board to provide the best image quality along with a 80,000:1 contrast ratio. To further enhance picture quality Philips include Pixel Precise HD, 3/2-2/2 motion pull down, Active Control + Light Sensor, Digital Noise Reduction, Dynamic Contrast Enhancement, 100Hz LCD and HD Natural Motion. There are two 10w speakers to prove 'Incredible Sound'. Net TV is also on board to keep you connected, providing widgets with everyday information along with an Ethernet connection so it can all be controlled from your laptop but viewed on screen. The DLNA network connection allows you to watch videos, view pics and listen to tunes from your PC. The built-in tuner that supports DVB-Terrestrial and DVB-Cable signals for both MPEG2 and MPEG4 formats means that you get high definition TV programmes in exceptional quality. |

We always love the Ambilight features on Philips TV's. Not only do they look great against a wall but also have a unique and eye catching appearance. It displays the colours from the screen well without being distracting if you're watching a film for example. Pixel Precise HD does a fab job of displaying images with superb detail and high quality. Colours are reproduced really well and blacks have details whilst remaining deep. The 100Hz LCD processing engine also keeps things sharp and clear and provides super fast response times of only 3ms.
