Kodak MD1063

Lovely little camera, takes brilliant shots but just a month out of warranty and the lens will not stay open. Chatted on-line with Kodak who were very helpful but we could not fix the problem. 20-mile return journey to our nearest Kodak dealers who could only send the camera back for repair (£20 up front for insurance and postage). Kodak came back, via their dealers, to say a further £50 for repairs. Add this £70 to the original price of the camera, plus the 2 x 20-miles journeys, plus the car parking etc. = very expensive snapshot camera.

my kodak md1063 is the same , it has been sent back three times and now has stopped for the fourth time, but is now out of warranty, this is the worst camera i have ever bought, i have read loads of reviews and they all say the same, that the lens keep coming out then going strait back in, i will not purchase another kodak camera again,

I too have been gifted a Kodak MD1063 and it has suddenly developed a problem with the lens. I have purchased a new rechargeable batter thinking that this will cure the problem but the camera seems fully charged and the lens keeps coming out and then going straight back in. It does seem to be a common fault.

I love the functionality of this camera so when the first one broke after 6 motnhs gecause the lens jammed, I went out an bought another one. 4 months later exactly the same problem occured with the next one and then i looked on line and found that this is basically a major fault with this product. dont waste your money.
