A review of the LG 42LG6100 1080p Full HD LCD TV

The new LG Scarlet range has a unique design and some cool features that add a new spark to their range of TV's.

The design is obviously the first noticeable feature with the new Scarlet LG range, especially due to the new shape and interesting glowing hole that goes right the way through to the other side. The hole glows red (or Scarlet!) which could be rather distracting but it does look very cool. We must also mention that the depth of the screen is a mere 45mm making this a perfect LCD TV to wall mount, however you do lose the glowing effect slightly.
Features
The LG 42LG6100 LCD TV has all of the popular features that are out there at the moment including a Contrast Ratio of 50,000:1, resolution of 1920x1080, 4 HDMI's making hooking up your Xbox 360, Blu-ray player, Playstation 3 etc a simple task without having to change them over. It also has built-in digital freeview, TruMotion 100Hz, XD Engine USB 2.0, Intelligent Sensor, Invisible speakers, Clear Voice technology and Simplink.

Performance
LG has excelled itself with the new Scarlet as they are definitely not a range to be messed with. Nothing but the best results from an amazing range. The Lg 42LG6100 reproduced colours immaculately with fine detail and great black levels. Image quality was superb with no judder or digital noise visible, all down to the TruMotion 100Hz. Freeview images were good and Standard definition was impressive too, but hold out for the HD images you will achieve as these are some of the best we have seen. We were also very impressed with the high quality achieved from the speaker system on board which gave us nothing to complain about and provided a clear and loud sound. Other models in the Scarlet range include: LG 47LG6000, LG 42LG6000, LG32LG6000, LG 37LG6000, LG 32LG5000, LG37LG5000, LG 42LG5000, LG 52LG5000
