A review of the Canon Ixus 970is Digital Camera
|
The Canon 970is one of the latest camera from Canon and offer amazing and intelligent features as well as great performance.

The design of the 970is is very similar to previous models, but with its strong body and comfortable hold, why change it. A curved edge makes it fit perfectly into your hand and reduces the risk of camera shake. A multi-control dial on the back makes it simple to alternate between modes. Always nice to see an optical viewfinder.

Canon never fail to impress us, and all of the Canon models we have ever tested seem to rise above many other manufacturers. Even from the word go, the 970is was off to a good start. The start-up to shoot time is 1.5 seconds and between shots is only 1.8 seconds. We were impressed with the battery life too and it took us a good couple of days and over 200 photos before the battery even showed a sign of giving up. Images showed good colour reproduction, vibrancy, sharpness and clarity. Colours were extremely bright and the Image Stabilisation showed a good performance and ensured our images were clear and judder free.

| Overall Opinion |
|
We liked the design of the Canon Ixus 970is, it was not the best we have seen, such as the Canon Ixus 860is which has a full metal body and feels very solid to hold. The 970is can be a bit slippy to hold but the curved grip does help. All features are great with spectacular results. It may be a little on the expensive side for now, but this is sure to change somewhat soon.
