I bought this 26" version of the KDL V4000 range Sony Bravia in Dec 2008. I''ve had to change it once (within 5 days) as, after extended use (3-4 hours) the picture started to ''ghost'' and vertical lines appeared on the screen. Using it with the DVD the same happened, so it wasnt just the signal. I bought it because it''s a Sony & their TV sets have historically been great. But I''m told it''s actually a ''samsung'' panel, with Sony Bravia software. It''s also made in Slovakia. In the shop, when returning it for exchange of the faulty product I looked at Sharp & LG as possible alternatives. The LG certainly has good sound (uses the screen panel somehow as part of the speaker system) and the Sharp (who make their own panels) certainly lived up to its name. But I stuck with the Sony. The colours appear a little washed out, but that''s probably cos I havent got it set right yet. It looks the part & with a 5 year replacement guarantee what''s to worry about?!
