Had the FFA52S since January 2009, after six visits by various engineers, today he installed a new heater of greater power, this will melt the ice completley before it freezes again, so the water can run away. The problem with this model appears to be the defrosting heater was not powerful enough to completley melt the ice. My old Lec fridge freezer is still going strong, however I gave it away to a neighbour to soon. Lets hope this fixes it for good, since hte cost to Hotpoint must enormous, since hundreds of customers must surely have the same problem.
