A review of the Philips 42PFL5603D 1080p LCD TV
A new Ambilight model to add to the range is the Philips 42PFL5603 1080p LCD TV with a great design, which remind us slightly of the Mac PC screen, but only larger, much larger. The curved edges and overlapping glass front give the screen a unique look and the slanted forward stand gives the impression this Tv is being displayed just to you.

| Performance |
We found the Philips 42PFL5603 LCD TV enjoyable to use at every turn. Setting it up was very easy and the on-screen instructions for manual set-up were very helpful. The design is very pleasing to the eye and fits into any home surroundings be it on the stand or wall mounted as we tried both in different rooms. The image quality was outstanding and as promised, clear, natural, life-like images were delivered with exceptional colour and very deep blacks. Sound was good but it tend to have a mind of its own and from channel to channel sounded slightly different. A good clear sound, but the volume did fluctuate and again when we played a DVD.
