Casio Exilim EX- Z200 10MP Digital Camera

Casio Exilim EX- Z200 10MP Digital Camera

Reviews

The Casio Exilim EX-Z200 is a very compact and easy to use digital camera

The Casio Exilim EX-Z200 digital camera is one of the latest in the Casio Exilim range and stands proudly at the top with its crisp, sharp design and full metal body.

It is available in a range of bright funky colours as well as sophisticated black and silver. There is a huge 2.7inch LCD screen on the back and a row of controls to the side of it. Casio never cut things short and ensure that all the good bits from their range are included and more and this is the story with the new EX-Z200.

Features include 10.1mega pixels, 4x optical zoom lens, 28mm wide angle lens, Super Clear 2.7in LCD, Auto Best Shot scene recognition function, 11.7MB internal memory, Voice recording, Motion Print (to print stills from your movies), Movie Stabilisation, Anti-Shake and YouTube Capture Mode. Face Recognition has also been included with a triple self-timer which takes 3 shots a second apart so you don’t have to keep resetting the image and your subject.

A soft flash allows you to take an image in the dark without washing out the subject and keeps the image looking bright and clear. The Casio EX-Z200 is a quick starter with a 2 second start-up time and a shot to shot time of 1 second thereafter. Focusing is impressive too and doesn’t seem to affect the battery life too much when many shots are taken. The optical image stabilisation on board creates sharp image with great clarity. Colour reproduction is also impressive and images are vibrant and bright.

The Casio Exilim EX-Z200 is a very easy to use digital camera with great menu options and excellent features. The performance did let it down slightly but if you’re not too fussed about slight flaws in your images then this camera is great especially if you mainly use it to upload still or videos to the net.

A review of the Casio Exilim EX-Z200 Digital Camera

The Casio Exilim EX-Z200 digital camera is one of the latest in the Casio Exilim range and stands proudly at the top with its crisp, sharp design and full metal body. It is available in a range of bright funky colours as well as sophisticated black and silver. There is a huge 2.7inch LCD screen on the back and a row of controls to the side of it. There is also an on screen menu bar which can be switched off but even with it displayed there is still plenty of the image remaining for editing purposes. There is a dedicated movie button and best shot/scene mode button which is very handy for quick access. There are two separate buttons for playback and shooting. The dimensions are pretty average for a digital camera these days and measures 93x55x22.7mm and weighs approximately 130g.
Features
Casio never cut things short and ensure that all the good bits from their range are included and more and this is the story with the new EX-Z200. Features include 10.1mega pixels, 4x optical zoom lens, 28mm wide angle lens, Super Clear 2.7in LCD, Auto Best Shot scene recognition function, 11.7MB internal memory, Voice recording, Motion Print (to print stills from your movies), Movie Stabilisation, Anti-Shake and YouTube Capture Mode. A soft flash allows you to take an image in the dark without washing out the subject and keeps the image looking bright and clear. The Casio Ex-Z200 records H.264 video in 30fps at 640x480 pixels making videos the ideal size to be uploaded to sites such as YouTube or can also be displayed on a widescreen LCD/Plasma TV.
Performance
The Casio EX-Z200 is a quick starter with a 2 second start-up time and a shot to shot time of 1 second thereafter. Focusing is impressive too and doesn’t seem to affect the battery life too much when many shots are taken. Focusing works very well, apart from in low light situations where it did lack a little, however, at ISO200 images are good and clear but do seem to deteriorate at ISO400, shame. Image quality is good from the Z200 and the optical image stabilisation on board creates and sharp image with great clarity. Colour reproduction is also impressive and images are vibrant and bright.
Overall Opinion
The Casio Exilim EX-Z200 is a very compact and easy to use digital camera with great menu options and excellent features. The performance did let it down slightly but if you’re not too fussed about slight flaws in your images then this camera is great especially if you mainly use it to upload still or videos to the net.
