Breville JE24 Juicer

Good for getting juice out of hard fruit and vegetables :apple, carrot, celeriac. Big enough to take whole (small to mediium) fruit but I find it works better if fruit halved. Soft fruits like ripe pear, overripe apple, banana tend to come out as mush. Berries juice quite well but a lot is wasted as wet pulp and skins. Comes apart and reassembles easily, but the plastic cover is full of inaccessible crevices, difficult to clean thoroughly. Cleaning needs to be done religiously, within a few hours of use. Is a chore but no worse, possibly better, than other models. Rather noisy, and with wear the cutterbowl seems to loosen and vibrates extremely noisily part way through juicing. Hard veg. tends to jump about when inserted, and the plastic blade assembly in the feeder tube is under a lot of strain. Ultimately the plastic tube supporting it cracked, and a couple of weeks later disintegrated, destroying the cutter/filter. It lasted us about 18 months, average about 1.5 uses per week.
