Worthwhile purchase. Good value. Good Sound.

My knowledge and experience of DVD recorders is NIL so I can only base my findings on personal experience as I have nothing to compare it with.

I was looking to buy a DVD recorder, preferably with HD so that I could play/record/play over and over. Felt the hassle of doing this with DVD to be too much. Pleasantly surprised to find exactly what I wanted PLUS a decent sound system.

O.k. it wont rock the walls but has plenty of good clear bass and a clarity far superior to my Sony 32" and expect it to be better than my intended 42" LCD purchase.

Recordings are good & clear in normal mode so plenty of recording space.

Set-up was easy and fairly basic (Ideal for the over 40s without teenagers to help) and made my first recording within 20 mins of setting up. I recorded a Home Video from VHS recorder plugged into back of DVD recorder onto hard drive then transferred it to DVDrw and then onto my computer. Simple!!

Pity I couldn''t record straight to the included USB port but at least it HAS a USB port (Input only). Many dont.

This set looks very nice and has a red light to let you know it is on. Not an overpowering glow. Just right.

If you are after something for your own personal enjoyment then this is the one. Friends with better, more expensive setups have been impressed.

Note that the sound system ALONE is still selling for about £100.00 and gets pretty good reviews so the recording ability for £50.00 is a no brainer.
