Door problem

I agree with the previous report. We have a had a serious door problem which came to a head on Christmas Eve this year when the door fell off. Its a big door and it crashed to the stone tiled floor, everything in the back of the door breaking. The door is hung on the flimsiest plastic hinges. The top hinge is not damaged but the bottom hinge is completely rotten. We had to save expensive food in the fridge bought for Christmas by propping the door against the fridge with a tall stool and hoping that the magnets do the rest. So far I have been unable to find a spare part for the hinge. This is the second problem with the fridge. I would not recommend it at all. I

Looks nice - Door problem

AEG S72398KA This tall freestanding fridge was bought for its storage capacity and very good looks. The door is somewhat difficult to open this is not just due to a vacuum which is typical of some fridges. It''s a large door, a large fridge with a full length handle so some kind of lever handle could have worked better. Having the fridge level and solid was also important for the door to open and stay where it is. When the door opens it has no retainer to stop it swinging right back and hitting what''s behind. After levelling the fridge feet this could improve but the difficulty in opening the door tends to undo efforts to have the fridge level and keep it in the same place. This may be because the feet are not grippy at all. Overall it''s an annoyance and a slur on what one thought was a good brand. After sampling UK customer care and not finding any useful technical support solution from the UK office I''m going to be inclined to skip this brand in future.

ProsCons
storage capacity good looks; good value otherwisecustomer support will do no more than say it''s due to the design
