Dies just after a year

With in the gurantee 1 year period we have no problems with our Samsung TV. Just after 13 months the picture became cloudy on the left, then gradually got worse as the cloud moved to the right. Worse of all, contacting Samsung. Told us there was nothing they could do!. I would never buy samsung again.

Undoubtably the finest...

I recently purchased a 46" M8 to complement my ps3 and the thing that sold the screen was it''s astonishing 15000:1 contrast ratio and it''s 1080p capability. This screen is in my opinion one of the finest LCD screens on the market. When rigged up to a hi def feed such as a Playstation 3 or Blueray player via a good quality HDMI cable the results are simply breathtaking. Although i rate this screen very highly it''s not without its faults, i have Sky television and when any fast motion is on screen the M8 tends to pixilate around the edges of the object in motion but i cant put this down to just the screen because this DOES NOT happen when watching a Blueray film.

Samsung LE46M87 46” LCD Full HD TV

Design
Samsung have ensured that the design of the LE46M87 is extremely attractive with its sleek, glossy black frame and rounded edges to make it stand out in the LCD TV crowd. The remote control is very easy to use and has all the necessary buttons close together, but is very basic and a few more backlit buttons wouldn’t have gone amiss as the only ones that light up are the volume and channels.
Features
The Samsung LE46M87 is a 1080p Full HD LCD TV with great connectivity with 3 HDMI’s  and is also supported via VGA which enables users to get the most out of their Xbox 360’s, a great bonus. This TV also has a feature called Movie Mode which eliminates grain and smoothes picture judder usually found when a film is converted to video. There is a Digital Natural Image Engine (DNIe) on board which improves black levels, sharpness and tone. Samsung’s Wide Colour Enhancer has also been included to generate richer, more vibrant colours.
Performance
The images from the Samsung LE46M87 were very impressive, but sight grain was evident on some darker images. Black levels were amazing and some of the best we have ever seen, and colours were rich and vibrant as intended. The HD images were spectacular but colour reproduction left a lot to be desired. The sound was not so impressive and as the speakers are located at the bottom of the screen the sound is aimed downwards and not forwards so a lot of the emphasis is lost and not great.
Overall Opinion
The Samsung LCD TV is a good all round TV, however sound and colour reproduction could be improved to make this a competitive Full HD TV.
