Bought this tv, within 18months vertical lines have appeared on the screen. Toshiba were not interested because it was out of warranty. They offered no help at all...........rubbish

| Toshiba have a good looking LCD TV in the 42C3030D. It is finished in matt black with a strip of silver around the outer casing. The speaker is conveniently hidden underneath the screen and you wouldn’t know it was there unless you were looking for it. The 42C3030D comes with a silver pedestal stand but to honest this TV looks much better wall mounted. |

| The Toshiba 42C3030D comes with all the connections the average user will every need. There is 2 x HDMI, 2 x Scart, 1 RGB Scart, Component Video In, Pc Input and Side mounted AV inputs for quick connection. What the 42C3030D is missing is a SD Slot and a USB Input which have there uses but for the average user who wants to hook up a bit of SKY HD and a DVD they are inputs that just aren’t needed and bulk up the costs. |

| The 42C3030D is never going to set the world alight for its features. They are the bare minimum we would expect to see on any LCD. The picture resolution is 1366x768 with a contrast ratio of 5000 – 1. On the plus side the 43C3030D has a 24 FPS Processing ability which means when connected to a new HD DVD the TV should replicate the picture pixel for pixel which should in turn mean a much clearer picture. |

| To be honest we were never expecting to see a great picture which we would expect to get form the more expensive Sony and Toshiba models, but we were pleasantly surprised by how well the 42C3030D handled HD pictures from Sky HD. Unless you were really studying the picture looking for flaws you could quite easily be impressed by the picture. When hooked up to normal analogue the picture was also good but we did find that when we watched football using the digital setting the image was nowhere near as good as what we have seen in the past few months from the likes of Sony Tv or Philips TV. |

| The Toshiba 42C3030D is a great entry level TV that for its price point represents exceptional value. If you watch a lot of football I would recommend you steer clear and spend an extra few hundred pounds and get yourself the new KDL40w2000u. |
