Bush LCD26TV006HDX

I write this message as my experience is the same as K66yla. I bought my set in February 2007. I was watching the Carling Cup final and the screen turned green and froze. It then went black and the green light was still on. I thought it was the Sky digital dish playing up. When it did not correct itself I switched it off then back on again and the red light began to flash continuously. I too spoke to Bush and I was fobbed off and told to contact a TV engineer. Fortunately we have one that has been fixing televisions, videos etc in the family for years. I am currently waiting for his feedback. I spoke to one of those TV experts on line and from what he was saying this could be the end of my tv - He said that it sounds like power failure has disturbed on damaged one of the compoments. Itcould be repaired but there is a knock on effect which means that other components would have been affected. The television would work for a while, but it would breakdown again in the not too distant future. I suspect that this kind of fault may have been exempt from cover if I had taken out an extended warranty at the time. I am very unhappy about this as I could argue that this tv is not fit for purpose. I have a Mitsubishi (old style) tv that I have had for 12 years with no problems at all. I had to remove this from another room to watch it. I would have kept this one as the main viewing tv if we weren''''t going into the digital HD age. I am considering writing a letter of complaint to Bush. I feel that I have grounds particularly as I am clearly not the only one that has had this problem - Could be a faulty range?? Jay777

Don''t bother buying this

I purchased this model 11 August 2006, I wanted a TV that was HD ready in my price range. I paid £399.97 for it. It was easy to set up, tho it did emit a low humming noise which was annoying to start with but we got used to it. It has 3 scart sockets, side av socket and other sockets to plug your PC in to. Overall at the time I thought it was a very good buy. 18 months down the line I have changed my mind, the TV packed in, the picture suddenly went black and the sound distorted, now it won''t switch on, just the standby light contantly flashing. Contacted Bush Customer Services who were very disinterested and told me to get an engineer to fix it at my own cost. I would expect a modern LCD TV to last longer than 18 months. LCD''s apparently have a life expectancy of 60.000+ hours. Give BUSH a miss if you want to save money.
