Useless item
I bought several aerials for this but the only signal I ever got was on my home aerial (where of course I don''t need TV on my laptop!). There, the hardware works for playback, if you don''t mind a three second delay every time you change channels, but forget the recording device, it is worse quality than streaming video on the web. The scanning for channels takes hours and locks up the whole computer, then you are left with a meaningless list of 60 odd channels which you can''t actually receive and have to go through them all to see which few are actually freeview. Eventually you whittle it down to the two analog and two digital channels which actually work but the software is so clunky there is no one-click way of selecting these in future. A laborious process each time and not worth the hassle for the results.
And now I have foolishly changed from XP to VIsta so the wretched application won''t even install, never mind find the right drivers!!
| Pros | Cons |
| cheap. But not cheap enough considering it doesn''t work! | clunky software
manual / helpfiles, totally useless |
