Design

With its jaw-dropping, spectacular 65" screen size the TH-65PX600B is a stunning HDTV with a sleek matt black frame with a narrow silver panel along the bottom of the screen. The wide silver stand is included but you are also able to wall mount it if you have a wall big enough in your pad. As with all of Panasonic's Viera TV's, the TH-65PX600B has an air of sophistication and will look amazing in any room of the house as long as you have the room to squish it in. The dimensions are 175cm (w) x 98cm (h) x 14cm (d) including the speakers.

Features

Panasonic have decided to pull out all the stops with the TH-65PX600B, with it being the first 65" Plasma HDTV they have included the most important and user-friendly features possible and by doing this they have created the most desirable and sought after HDTV on the market today. As we mentioned, Panasonic have included V-REAL technology with the TH-65PX600B, which they have been perfecting over the years and now with this inclusion you can expect to see some absolutely amazing results, with images being completely noiseless and more crystal clear than we have ever seen on such a large screen. The TH-65PX600B's high density video and sound immaculately display the stunning high-definition qualities of HD programs and movies. The jaw-dropping images you will witness are thanks to the 1920x1080 resolution which creates over 2 million pixels so fine details are displayed brilliantly. The TH-65PX600B has a built-in TV tuner and DVB digital tuner, PLL synthesizer 100 position auto-tuner, 3 scart inputs and 3 HDMI ports which is the current maximum enabling you to connect all of your hardware such as DVD players, HD DVD players, Blu-Ray Disc players, games consoles, surround systems and more. The power consumption is 720 watts which is not very eco-friendly compared to an average of 150 watts on a 32" TV.

Performance

We recently purchased Mission Impossible 3 on HD DVD so we tested this with the Toshiba HD-XE1 HD DVD player and viewed it on the Panasonic TH-65PX600B. Even when the menu screen was displayed we could instantly see the amazing colour reproduction and couldn't wait to press the play button on our remote. Once we had delved into the HD world, we sat back with mouths open wide and watched in awe as images jumped out at us with the stunning colour reproduction and detail we were plied with. We have honestly never seen a movie so clear on a Plasma or LCD TV and the 1080p resolution displayed an outstanding picture which made us sit forward. In fact, we spent most of our movie watching time on the edge of our seats. The sound is the icing on the very tasty cake and with a 3-way speaker system combining a woofer, squawker and 5cm tweeter you are blown away and the whole experience is just amazingly realistic.

Overall Opinion

As we said, the whole experience with the Panasonic Viera TH-65PX600B 65" Plasma HDTV totally blew us away and the colour reproduction, fine details and immaculate sound were a major part in this. Although, it will set you back around £6000, it really is the investment of a lifetime and you will not be disappointed with your purchase.
