Have had this fridge freezer 27 months looks great but doesnt keep things cool, in fact it doesn''''t work at all its completely packed up, LG customer services are a joke they told me to contact a repairer, I asked them what would happen if it couldn''''t be mended, as after reading various things on the internet it seems to be a major repair including a compressor, and re-gassing, They don''''t know. You would not expect this to be happening on a new appliance. Contacted several local repairers they wont touch them I wish I hadn''''t either. Get advice on American Fridges at AmericanFridges.com.

The machine stopping chilling/freezing after about 26 mths. LG unprepared to assist and referred me to ''their'' support for machines not covered by warrantly - a company called JTM Contracts. In fact the company is completely independant and LG does not have the ability to stop them ripping you off or performing badly. I paid £70 and an engineer turned up, He didn''t even take the back off and said - turn the machine back on and I''ll call later to see if it has ''sorted itslef out''. He didn''t call back at the time promised (left me waiting in the house all day) and when advised that the machine hadn''t started working (there''s a surprise!) he said it needed a compressor and he''d advise his office and get a quote for me. I''ve heard nothing since despite calling ''his office'' 2 times. I also called LG customor services and they said they can''t help as my contract is with ''their'' service company. Finbally LG gave me the number of ''their'' spares dept (another independant company) and the person I spoke to said the compressor wasn't on their list of products and they''d get a price for me but it would take up to 5 days. I am still waiting for a call from JTM Contracts - almost a week after the first call to LG.

had two LG fridge freezers within five years, first one died, lucky we had insurance. Second one has just died after two years. Very disapointed, never again.
