Toshiba 32wlt66

After keeping my eye on the price of this for a while, and noticing its clear superiority towards its rival 32" models ( I work in a TV shop ) I borght this at £500 a few weeks back despite having no lounge to put it in. As far as picture is concerned the first thing I noticed was how natural the picture was compared to some of its rivals (I'm looking your way Samsung). Grass wasn't too luminous, And people weren't luminous. Whether watching bright cartoons or darker movie scenes the picture boosts the colours and contrasts automatically giving it the optimum viewing picture. Sound quality is good through the SRS Nicam stereo speaker, both loud and clear yet it seems to be lacking the depth that is apparent in some of its competitors, particulary those with the virtual dolby surround sound.

Beware of the LCD and Plasma TVs

I am writing this review to warn those comsumers of the damage that can happen to the plasma and LCD TVs. My grandson hit our 2 month old LCD TV with a plastic hammer that weighs less than an ounce and broke the screen beyond repar. The screen in this TV can not be replaced so it is unrepairable. I have been researching this and have found that all plasma and LCD screens are very easily damaged and are not repairable. Be warned, Steve Aulick.

ProsCons
non-repairable screen

32WLT66

I bought this Toshibs TV primarily for the football world cup, having previously owned a Sony 21 inch TV and for this reason alone it was the perfect buy. The quality of the picture, esp of DVDs through 1 of the 2 hdmi slots is superb. The built-in digital tuner makes an excellent attempt at showing good skin tones and shadows, and handled all but the fastest action without a flicker. All in all an excellent TV and now I have owned it for a few months, it has finally 'shrunk to normality' after looking huge in our lounge for the first few weeks. A cracking TV

Toshiba 32WLT66 32inch LCD TV

Toshiba 32WLT66 LCD TV Review

When Toshiba designed the 32WLT66 LCD they certainly had their thinking caps securely on their heads. You see, they are ahead of the game because they have not supplied just one HDMI port, they have gone that extra mile and supplied two. This is great as we are entering a new digital age the days of the scart are disappearing. The days of fiddling with leads and wires are finally in the past. This eye-catchingly cheap, ultra stylish, matt black finish TV has two built-in tuners, one digital and one analogue. You have the option of plugging in your PC and through the Conditional Access Module there is the added flexibility of Top Up TV. If you invest a further £150 you can get the sub-woofer to add that extra oomph. The LCD’s dimensions are 794 x 559 x 116mm (1141mm with floor stand). The picture quality is vibrant, vivid and entirely convincing. It might even be the best picture ever seen on an LCD. After watching this TV you can definitely say that high definition has definitely arrived. The only very small, but important, pitfall as far as picture performance goes is that sometimes skin can look slightly waxy. This LCD weighs in at a meagre 14kg making life easier for those who wish to wall mount the TV. The sound is good with WOW processing.Toshiba have really left no room for improvement when they designed this TV. For the price it is definitely the most competitive in it’s league.
