Toshiba 37WL66 37in HDTV LCD Televison
| Well, they say you can’t have everything and the Toshiba 37WL66 has certainly accepted this by choosing brains over beauty. Even so, this LCD TV is a good performer all round. Design It’s grey, boxy design really lets this TV down which is such a shame. Apart from looks it can boast the best of everything else! To say it is highly specified is an understatement for the 37WL66 - it has got not one but two HDMI inputs and 3 scarts, component video, PC input and a headphone jack. It’s not very often we come across TVs that include all of these so we had a refreshing surprise with this one. |

Setup/Installation Set-up raised no problems – it took about 40 minutes from getting through the front door to watching it which isn’t bad. Features Performance Audio isn’t amazing – let’s get the bad stuff out of the way. You need a separate sound system if you want amazing sound but if you are happy listening to mediocre audio you’ll be fine with the 37WL66. Moving on to the good stuff – As soon as you clap eyes on the outstanding picture quality you'll know you’ve got the right TV. With both Standard and HD images you’ll notice the impressive pictures with heaps of detail. The Active Vision LCD Image Processor improves the image detail, colour, contrast and movement, providing clear motion pictures – excellent for the footy. Picture noise is not an issue - what a relief. Overall Opinion The Toshiba LCD HDTV is a true performer. It doesn’t look awesome but it makes up for it with the brains inside. Unfortunately the average audio discredits this TV but apart from that I would recommend it (along with an good sound system). Lisa Malyon |
