Mac Mini with DVR-K06 Burner

Hi I am Dave. I own a mac mini 2Ghz Dual core intel processor with 2 Gig of ram. The mac Mini is a great machine, pretty much silent in use so great for My home recording studio. The main problem I have is with the K06 Pioneer CD/DVD burner. First problem is that sometimes the discs get stuck in the drive, the eject mechanism works fine its just that the disc gets stuck between the burner exit and the mac output slot in the case, its as though the burner slot and the mac case slot is not quite aligned so it cant spit the disk out and second is that it does not seem to want to burn DVD''s incl Dual layer DVDs. It does however give an error code when burning fails..... So it looks like I am gonna have to buy a new burner. Another problem with slot loading Drives/Burners (not just panasonic DVR-K06) is that you always have to use a full size CD/DVD disk where as in tray loading burners you can use the smaller discs (DVD Camcorders + some driver discs for cams etc) now if you buy a webcam or external sound-card and the driver disk is not full size you need to go to another pc or mac with a tray loading burner, then copy that mini Dvd/CD onto a full size DVD/CD before you can use it in a slot loading drive note this is impossible if the disk is also write protected (Hack Proof) My advice would be to steer clear of slot loading drives and buy a tray loading external CD/DVD drive .instead Best regards from Dave.
