th42px60 great tv

This is one of the best plasma TV''s that I have seen in the market today within £2000 price range. The picture quality is the best out of all, the sound is fantastic and the set up and the menu options are very good. Panasonic really proves that they are the best in Plasma by making this TV. The connectivity is great with two HDMI sockets. The digital TV is great even with a normal aerial wire. The DVD picture is second to none and Panasonic have really done it very well. It has 10000:1 very high contrast ratio showing deep blacks very well. I would recommend this TV to anyone who is a real technolgy freak. I have not seen and HD on this TV, but I guess it would be even better.
ProsCons
great picture and soundnone

Panasonic Viera TH42px60 TV

There is no doubt that the Panasonic TH42PX60 viera HD ready TV is not the best viera yet.  The 42” beauty looks like something off the catwalk, for those of you are style conscious and not only does it look good – it’s got brains too!  Boasting a 1,024x768 pixel resolution, this TV offers a superb picture quality along with a built in tuner providing access to Freeview.

The TH42PX60 is not exactly what you’d call a bargain but within the price you also get a giant cabinet stand.  You can also opt for the cheaper version which includes a simple pedestal stand.  This option is definitely worth considering as the giant cabinet stand does exactly what it says on the tin and can dominate your living room very easily.

Being clean cut, this TV hides all the connections to the rear – good job too as there are lots of them.  Two HDMI inputs, three Scarts (two of them RGB capable), one component video input and one analogue PC input, plus analogue stereos ins and out.  There is also a common interface slot , enabling Freeview to be upgraded to TopUp TV.

The PC compatibility is overly impressive.  If you inout in the correct resolution you can see your entire computer screen on the TV.  Featuring Panasonic’s V-Real Picture Processing technology you also get an adjustable digital noise reduction function, which may come in handy when viewing particularly noisy images.

Sound is not this TV’s strongest point, however, Panasonic has included the ‘Ambiance Mode’ which widens the soundfield a little.

Overall, this TV is a top performer.  Could be described as a bit pricy but you will certainly see why about 10 minutes after you get it home!  Don’t forget to opt for the pedestal stand if you don’t live in a mansion!
