I just got a pair of these headphones and for the last week i tested them on every sound machine i could use. Meaning a laptop, a PC with a Creative SoundBlaster X-Treme and a MacBook. They sound incredible. From the bass sound to the high frequency sounds, they are very clear, and at the price of less then 70 $, SE-MJ5 seem to be a good choice. I use them for composing on my laptop and PC, and until now (though they are only one week old) these headphones did their job. One thing i am worried about is the cord, which seems a bit weak. Compared to my last headphones (Sony MDR-V150), which had a very strong and resistant cord, the Pioneer headphones seem to have a rather fragile cord. Still, the producers say it is a "highly durable cord". I really wish to believe that and to see that it is real. The idea of a short cord (1.2 m) for player use, and a 2 m extension for in-door use is great. Both sides of the cords are gold-plated, ensuring a high quality signal transfer, and the storage pouch seems to be a useful thing too, cuz it helps you protect the headphones while you transport them while not using. The two types of ear-cups Pioneer delivers with them are quite interesting, though i never use the velvet ones. The artificial skin cups are more sound-proof and keep the noise out when i use them on the street. The velvet cups are like a winter version or something. I don''t know. Anyway, as i said, Pioneer SE-MJ5 headphones resisted to some very hard and low basses and high frequency sounds too, and though they are a bit uncomfortable to my ears (they are too tight a bit, and trust me, i don''t have a wide head), i don''t regret buying them at all. I recommend them to anyone who wants to pay around 70 $ for a good pair of headphones, and wish for a clear sound and deep bass.
