Canon SD550 Ixus 750 7MP 3x Optical Compact Digital Camera

The Canon IXUS 750 is a breath of fresh air if you are fed up of sacrificing good photos for a cheap digital camera. It is a seven megapixel model with a 3x optical zoom lens.  This super stylish camera measures 89.5 x 57 x 2.4mm and weighs 170g making it slightly larger than other ultra compact, pocket sized digital cameras.     On picking up the camera you get a good feeling about it.  With a nice clear LCD screen situated at the back of the camera you are ready to compose images, review photos and access the menu.  A feature that you don’t come across very often is the LCD brightness control option, so you can adjust the screen depending on the light of day.  There is also a view finder which some of the new camera designs have decided to leave off. The IXUS 750 manages to take a single shot in 0.39 seconds which is an average time and could do with being a little bit faster if you want to snap the kids on the swings at the park.  It has a flash unit with a maximum 5m range which is good compared to other cameras. If you did want to add more flash you can buy Canon’s High Power Flash. The features on the camera are slightly more advanced than the average digital camera making it perfect for those who want a bit more than a simple point and snap.  It has a movie mode that can shoot up to 1GB of footage.  The footage can be reviewed in slow motion, great for analysing your golf swing!  In addition to the automatic mode there are many other modes to improve picture quality. The IXUS 750 comes along with a rechargeable lithium battery and charger.  You can take up to 150 shots on a full battery.  It also comes with a 32MB SD card for memory which holds an average of 14 photos. The quality of the photos taken with this camera is astounding.  The clarity and sharpness is down to the IXUS 750 having such a good lens.  Both close up and long distance shots were impressive.  The only slight downfall is the lack of red eye reduction. The Canon IXUS 750 is a very impressive digital camera.  Maybe slightly expensive, but after using it, the reasons are fully understandable.
