The Hitachi 32LD7200 is a 32in LCD television which is HDTV ready. Like many of it’s competitors, the 32LD7200 comes in black and silver making it nice to look at and compatible for most rooms, however, this design is gradually becoming more dated. It sports a remote swivel stand which is a great feature as you can watch it from any position in the room. Sunlight does not affect the screen either.
The 32LD7200 displays at resolutions of up to 1366 x 768 and has two speakers which produce a combined output of 16 watts of Nicam stereo. Although, with the speakers bolted onto each end of the TV it makes it wider than most 32in TVs. It boasts not one, not two, but three Scart inputs but unfortunately that is all you’re getting. There is no PC input I’m sad to say. All hope is not lost, however, there is HDMI digital input.
You will need an external set-top box for Freeview as this TV only has an analogue tuner. The picture is clean, but lacks the sheer visual impact of the very best screens of this size, which manage better contrast and sharpness while avoiding cartoonish overkill. There is definitely some noise in busy scenes but it’s nothing too serious. The analogue tuner adds a touch of shimmer so I suggest adding an external digital tuner.
