purchased sept 2007. It went wrong in the first 6 months - Fridge freezing up and the freezer defrosting. After 1 yr and outside of the warranty it went wrong again with a similar problem. I had to pay £250 for a maytag engineer which included another year warranty. I was told by engineer that these models have a problem with things going wrong! Feb 2011 door handle came off. End of April engineer came to replace it but said I need a new door ( which I had already told them previously I would need) numerous phone calls later door arrived but was damaged! So Domestic and General, whom I am insured with now are replacing the product. However, I dont think I want another Admiral. Maytag customer service is terrible.

Looks good but few problems in first 3 years. Fridge regularly freezing. Needed to install costly new part to help maintain correct temperature. Not a replacement part - a brand new part just so fridge can do its job (hardly fair wear and tear?). This is a known fault on this fridge freezer, but Maytag insisted it was chargeable Water and ice control panel is cheap and plastic covering the buttons has already deteriorated and spoilt look for the fridge freezer

| Looks very good in the kitchen, lovely ice maker, the water is used constantly in my home. | Well, to start with, I paid the extra to have the appliance actually fitted and installed by Maytag engineers, who just left it in the middle of my kitchen! That was sorted, although had to wait 2 days. Very small freezer section. Maybe tall, but tiny shelves, which you have to stack up. I find that the bottom drawer, which is for meat/fish, does freeze up the food, even on correct temperature setting. Crushed ice goes every where, other than the glass!! Had the filter light come on this morning, not sure why though???? |
