Can't believe this was ever user tested

This kettle looks great, but isn't really suitable as a device for boiling water: 1) Its capacity is much less than outward appearance would suggest 2) The level indicator is practically impossible to read from any distance, resulting in under or over filling 3) The lid is difficult to fit 4) Combining 2) and 3) introduces a really dangerous aspect to this kettle: If overfilled and/or the lid is not seated properly - both easily done, the lid flies off when it's boiling, along with a splash of boiling water. My daughter has burnt herself as a result 5) Our kettle has developed a fault whereby, on boiling, the switch flicks up, but then falls down again, so that the kettle keeps boiling itself until you switch it off at the wall. I dread to think what would happen if this were left to continue. Luckily we have only suffered a kitchen full of steam and wasted electricity so far. In summary, it's not fit for purpose, and in fact dangerous.

looks terrific

Sleek and elegant on the worktop, it has a solid look. A great shape and I love that ring on the handle. Nothing plastic. Good chunky rubber handle. Downside is that the brushed metal scratches rather easily, the detachable lid fixes with two small ball catches into 2 notches and is fiddly to relocate and one is never absolutely sure that the lid is secure, and the water level indicators are so small and discreet you need a bright light to see them.
