Sony Dsc H1

Sony Dsc H1

Reviews

Just like a snack between meals fills a gap, so the Sony DSC-H1 fills the gap between the consumer cameras and the professional market. First off we have to talk about this price tag, it’s so small. Only £399 for a Sony camera that has all the features and build quality that you would expect on a camera 3 times its price. The camera it self is well laid out with a large 2.5 inch lcd screen and easy to use chrome buttons that are used to navigate the Sony menu system. The large 12x optical zoom at the front of the camera extends by 2 inches from the resting position making this camera quite large when fired up. The start up time is not the quickest in this class at about 3 secs. Our main worry with this camera is not the build quality or even the picture quality. It is that there is no battery pack just a slot for 2 AA batteries. After using the camera for about 30 mins we did notice that there was already a large dent in the battery life.

Overall Opinion

The Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-H1 digital camera represents great value for money and should be considered by any novice wanting to improve their picture taking. The Sony DSC-H1 offers impressive image quality and good features all around. The only thing we didn't like is the lack of a battery pack. But hey, look at the positive side: if the DSC-H1 runs out of battery you won't have to look for a socket to recharge it. Just buy two AA batteries anywhere and the DSC-H1 will be ready to keep taking snaps.
