We bought a BWD219 integrated washing machine about 4 years ago - we also bought an extended warranty from the retailer. I wish we hadn''t bought the extended warranty as it would have been cheaper and far less hassle to throw this noisy and break down prone machine away rather than have the hassle of dealing with the customer service centre and engineers. Our latest experience (and unfortunately not the only one) The machine started making an enormous racket. We call out an engineer. He turns up on time and diagnoses the problem. Broken bearing. He will return with part to fix. The second appointment is scheduled for the following week. It is cancelled on the day of the visit because of sickness. So far I have lost two days off work On day 3 the engineer shows up. He tries to access the machine and claims it is blocked by a dish washer and he can''t get access. He leaves hurriedly despite my protest. I disconnect the hoses and roll the machine out in two minutes - I immediately call the customer service centre later and request the engineer returns as he can get access no problem. Despite a promise that the engineer would return that day he doesn''t. The service centre book a 4th appointment two days later. 4 days off work so far. It is now 2.00 on day 4 the engineer that is booked to visit has called me twice (proactive - good!) and apologised as has is having difficulty locating the previous engineer who has the part. He is hopeful he will be able to get here today.....but he suggests I rebook. We have had no washing machine for over 3 weeks ....and we have 3 small kids!!!! We have wasted 4 days off work and spent a fortune at the launderette. I advise any reader not to buy an Indesit machine as from my experience the machine breaks down repeatedly and the repair service is bad beyond belief. It will cost you a fortune. Spend some extra money and go for a higher end more reliable machine. I wish I had.
