Please read the instructions. put the right amount of water as per instruction and start ironing only when the light is ready, I had the same problem but once you follow the instruction, this is the best steam iron you could ever have.Mine fell down as well and broke ,I cannot find the replacement. My son bought another brand but never use it, I did try bought the recent Polti generator Iron but I have to return it because it not the same as this old one.

Polit 3500 Steam Iron

I have had my Iron for years and have found it very reliable. The casing has just broken as I dropped it so i will definmitely be buying a replacement. I was advised to clean it out by just filling the containcer with water and then giving it a good shake - then you tip the water out the scale also goes. When mine has a spitting fit I just to this procedure and its fine again. Love it!!

Vaporella Inox 3500 - What the hell is this thing ?

I just found one dumped on the street. Funny thing is, is looks brand new and it works! Goes to show that all the other reviews must be spot on!
ProsCons
Didn''t cost me a penny.Might burn the house down - I''ll probably bin it before I go to bed...

Polti 3500r

The Polti 3500r is not all it seems. When it decides not to spill water out all over your ironing board and clothing making the clothes fit for the wash bin, then it irons pretty well. However, it is a 50/50 gamble and cannot be relied upon if you need to wear an item of clothing the same day as ironing because of this. I have got through 3 ironing board covers which are covered in brownish water spills in 6 months. I certainly would not recommend this iron for its lack of steam at time, and spillage of water which gushes out at irregular times. The cable also wears away due to the heat and I have had to bind this with black tape. When it decides to behave, it irons extremely well, however, is tempremental and cannot be relied upon when you have a pile of urgent ironing.

Polti Iron

I felt I had to review this because it is an incredibly bad iron. It spills over with water when you fill it. It is complicated, steam is intermittent either poor steam or gushing out. You cannot tell when it needs refilling. You cannot tell with the buttons on top if they are switched on or off etc etc.
ProsCons
Nothing You need to descale every time you fill it up at the cost of £10 for 20 fills
