my aristons on and on over many years
the first washing machine i ever bought was an ariston washer dryer, about 30 years ago, when i first got married, it lasted 16 years, with only one service after the first year, in constant use as three children came along, and we had to do all grannies washing when she could no longer manage, after 14 years, it tripped my, elcb, circuit breaker, thinking it must be dead by now, i lifted the top to find the dryer element had a bubble in it and had failed, it was easy to take out so i took it to a local spares center, and bought a new one for £12.00, it ran fine for another two years, then the door lock failed, so i scrapped it, and went straight out to buy an ariston washer, the engineer from the shop fitted it, and told me he remembered fitting the first one, and that he regretted, that the new ones were not as good quality as the first one, and that one lasted about five years, needing 3 major repairs in the first couple of years, i had warrany, i have now moved house and am on my third ariston, with a spare one connected in the cellar, i now don''t expect machines to last as long as the first one, BUT, with spares so cheap and fast to recieve online, since retiring, i have time to do all my own repairs, recently one of them started to run indefinitly on wash cycle, i googled the problem for a diagnosis, and found it was the heater element, i purchased online recieved in 24 hours and fitted in 5 minutes, i replaced the main bearings 12 months ago, these are easy machines to work on, even with no technical expertise, with the help of the net, i believe i can keep these machines going, on and on and on,
