Nikon Nikkor 85MM F/1.8D Af Lens

I got a Nikon D200 in 2007, with a 18-135mm f3.5-5.6 kit lens. I had decided to take photos of live music, mainly rock bands as I had access to my local venue. However, it soon become apparent that although the 18-135mm lens is a good lens, it didn''t let in enough light, especially when fully zoomed out to f5.6 in a dark music venue. At that point, I realised that I needed a new lens and after looking around in shops and online, it became apparent that for less that £100 (less than £80-£90 if you really shop around) I could this wonderful 50mm f1.8 that would solve the problems that I was experiencing. If you need to take photos in dark surroundings and are unable or would rather not use a flash, then this is the lens for you. You will of course need to increase the ISO in dark areas, but at 800-1000, you can get a nice mix of shots depending on the light You could spend £250-£300 on a 50mm f1.4 (which will just let in slightly more light) but if you are on a budget and want to take excellent shots in poor light, with a fast auto-focus and great results then look no further than the Nikkor 50mm f1.8 - you won''t regret it for a second!
