The Toshiba HD-E1 was one of the first HD-DVD players avaliable although we thought it what a great HD player it cannot out put 1080p HD signals therefore you would be better off choosing one of the new Toshiba HD-DVD players.

The Toshiba E1 can play back all region dics. I thought HD Discs were region free.
