They nothing to replace it with so i went on line to search for someone selling it and i found a new one for sell. I purchased it and again gave it to this same person. Put the reply in the wrong place. But you get the gist of what I'm tryna say. Right? replyJay 17th October I had the exact same problem. Camera turned on but turned off soon after, with lens still outside. Not to mention that awful beeping noise. I panicked and thought 'what is going on?'. I took out the memory card, charged the batteries, I even used alkalines, but nothing. Then I noticed the lens was crooked as if it was stuck. I pulled it out and I heard it click into place, for a second I thought I had broken it. I turned it on ...... waited ...... it remained on, I then pressed the power button and hey presto the lens went in and it turned off! YAY. Problem Solved :D replyJasmine 5th February I got a D53 around thanksgiving/christmas. I try to install the software and it won't upload my pictures from the camera. What kind does it take? replyheyo 19th March I had the same problem as Peggy, except even with new batteries the same problem occured. I am now unable to turn the camera on- it just beeps loudly three times despite the new batteries. I was very careful with it and have never dropped it/ got it wet. Any ideas? replyJessica 4th August I had the same problem with my camera, it started acting funning right after I got the camera as a christmas gift, the camera always flashed ""low batteries"" and beeped three times and shut off, sometimes without even closing the lens. I am very dissappointed in the quality of the camera, what seemed like to be a good deal on a camera, turned out to be a disaster, I have tried calling the call center, and they reccommened trying alkaline batteries, I have already tried that, nothing seems to work...the camera is pure ""junk"".... replyAngela Harding 13th November Because I am still learning how to get the maximum use of my camera, I want to be sure that my settings, especially for aperture and shutter speed are the recommended settings for this camera for standard picture taking. Through experimenting with different settings and features, some of them have been changed. I am seeing that when my pictures are printed (I order them through Walmart's digital photo center) they are often grainey and blurred. This was not happening before. And it is not noticeable on my computer or in emailed pics. Thank you for your help. replyhilen 21st December i had the same problem, my lens were stuck out and it would not power on. It was making 3 beeps and powering off. So i kept putting it on and at the same time pushing the lens left and right. Suddenly I heard a click sound and the lens went back. Then I realized that the lens were stuck and that is why it was not booting up. replyPush the lens left or right till the lens goes back, you need to keep powering it on and on till the stuff slides back.
