It is HD ready but not through hdmi sadly. I think it was manufactured before hdmi became prevailant. You can still obtain high definition through DVI or component though you will need seperate audio connections for this. I have had this TV for about 1 and half years and I have found it to be absolutely fantastic. I'm not a fan of big oversized TV's so 26"" is fine for me.

hi
What i Meant was that you need to use composite audio. (the red and white phono jacks) as dvi and component are video sources only not audio so from your hdmi output from your device (whatever that may be there) should be and audio L+R phono point which you have to use if you want sound. and yes you need a hdmi to dvi convertor cable to view hd if your device doesn't have component connections. They are quite cheap generally if bought online i found. However you may note on the rear of this tv that the only option available for sound with dvi is PC SOUND which will also require a convertor cable to change to phono/rca (3.5mm stereo jack to stereo phono sockets.) It sounds more complicated than it is really and not knowing your technical know how i may be over explaining it.
So in closing you need a hdmi>dvi-d convertor cable
and a 3.5mm stereo jack > stereo rca convertor cable.

This is a good price(if u search in google most sellers sell this price over 500 euros).I think Mark can answer to us about the cables. As for the audio converter search in google as like: 3.5mm stereo jack to stereo phono sockets. U ll find many and cheap.
