The JVC TH-R1 is a 5 Speakers and Subwoofer home theatre system with DVD Player included in the box. It's DVD player will take 1 x DVD Video, DVD-RAM and DVD-R disks and the setup supports Dolby Digital®, DTS® and Dolby Pro Logic II encoding for realistic surround sound to put you in the action. The system will also play MP3 and JPEG files.

Hello,

I used a verbatim DVD-R (16x, 4.7 GB) and the menu for formatting displays a red 'not available' sign in the upper right corner of the screen. Did I forget something?

yes. u use DVD-R and not a DVD+RRW. hehe
