Ask A Question About - Hitachi 37LD6600 Lcd Tv Mike Durning 19th May We bought this tv from Currys in late December 05, after 2 months It started to lose the picture,Currys would not replace it as we had it more than 28 days so Mastercare collected it and brought it back 14 days later, now today 3 weeks after return it has gone again. Excactly the same fault after numerous phone calls Currys, Hitachi, etc. so far no one i've spoken to claims to be technically minded as to understand the fault so I'm left with Mastercare to repair it yet again!! If there is a lesson to be learned don't buy this and don't buy from Curry's full of Sat boys and girls who don't know nothing worth knowing! replyc.wesley 23rd June hi , could you please give me some more detail of your problem ,i have also bought this tv and i think may be experiencing a similer problem , i can be watching a program on sky or normal tv and the picture will suddenly go leaving me with just the sound , its done it a few time and is only rectified after turning the tv completly off and turning it back on again ............ replymike 26th June I can't give you anymore detail other than you have decribed the exact same fault that I had. I have now received the tv back from mastercare and it did not even work out of the box! I have now finally managed after many weeks of needless complaining (listen to your customers!)to have the store to agree to a replacement. All I can suggest is that you face up to getting rid of the tv but be prepared for a struggle as no one will admit liability good luck! replyMalcolm Moore 3rd January Suprise Suprise replyI have a similar problem. All of a sudden the pictur quality goes so it looks like the image is posterized. I have had the TV repaird twice now, the last time it happened it was returned about 4 days a go and guess what. It's happened again. I suggest nobody purchases this model! Shaun Hurd 9th July We've just managed to get Mastercare to accept that our Hitachi 37LD isn't worth repairing. We purchased 31st December 2005 - TV went wrong within weeks and was replaced. That one has now gone wrong three times. Just about to embark on a nother arguement with Currys/Mastercare as they've offered us replacement vouchers for the TV for £200 loess than the purchase price!!!! replyAdam Walsh 19th August i have the same problem as everyone else, my 37LD is only 4 months old, and has already been replaced once, about 1 month ago the colour started going, red pixels everywhere . replyNow the picture has completely gone, left with a black screen and sound, i spent near enough £1000 on this piece of S**T and i want my money back. in the manual they have the cheek of writing ""Your Guarantee Of Excellence"", more like a guarantee to blow up James 6th September Bought this tv brand new from an ebay shop, got it, looked brilliant, picture was great, speakers are very poor and the scart2 connection is rubbish, you can only use it for freeview. Anyway after a 2months it started to pixelate, black turned to a kinda red snowy effect, the shop wanted to repair it but soon as i told them the make n model they said they knew about the problem and that they could fix it but couldnt promise it wouldnt go again in the future, so i got a full refund. replyBarry 14th November I have been scanning Unbeatables site for some time now looking for a 37""HC Readt T.V and thought I had found the perfect looker at a brilliant price. The hitachi 6600. Then I thankfully read these reviews just before I purchased the model. o sorry to see the problems you have all suffered with this T.V but at the same time thank you all for saving me a lot of money and a lot more grief!! Hope you all get some decent recompense after the grief you have had. Thanks for letting everyone else know as well. replyDave in Kent 8th March Hi, bought 37LD6600 from Currys, Managers Special Very Cheap. It works Ok mostly. Buzzing noise reported on some websites is caused by the backlight if you select cinema mode or lower brightness below 30. replyI am currently experiencing colour problems, if i switch to standby and back on all is well again. I am now experimenting with different setup of peripherals EG video, sat and CCTV input. The manual does state not to use scart 1 for digiboxes, apparently this is because the is scart can be used for firmware update and can be confused by digiboxes! Malcolm Moore 25th March Mastercare have now taken responsibility for this television. I have had a refund (to it's current value!)and now have a Samsung R73 which is fabulous. The Hitachi 6600 has been withdrawn from Sale in Currys due to problems I have been told. Please, nobody else buy this TV. reply |
