We have TomTom 300 in wifes car, TomTom on my PDA and have been very impressed, however the Garmin Nuvi outshines the TomTom on sat recognition and its maps,is more precise than TomTom plus it easily goes in the pocket. The fip out sat receiver is just the bees knees to fit it in the sun visor as 99% of the time you are just listening to directions and not looking at the screen. Just been to Belgium and the traffic receptor diverted us due to motorway closure but still got to destination in extra 15 minutes. Only critism over the TomTom is that you cant, or I dont know how to make an alert say for traffic cameras louder. The TomTom can really give a blast to alert you, the Nuvi only has a soft ding although you get used to listening for it. Am now looking forward to the new Nuvi 660 with the wide screen although its not need really. Get a Nuvi you will not be dissapointed.
