I have misplaced the cables for my Aiptek DV5700 and have been told I can charge the battery using a USB cable, but this does not seem to be working. Any advice for a very quick remedy?

I have AIPTEKDV5700 camcorder and am unable to use the same. I have loaded the driver for the above from the disc supplied along with. When click on web camera, a message comes "" camera not connected"". The camcorder is conncted through the cable provided. Please advise what is wrong.
