Sat Nav
Sat Nav systems have become the must have car accessory and one of the biggest selling gadgets in the UK. Satellite Navigations come in various shapes and sizes from 7 inch wide screens down to small 3 inch screens. Sat Navs can be used in various situations not just in cars; there are now GPS navigation devices that are specifically made for motorbike users as well as cyclists and hand-held GPS devices made for ramblers while walking.
There are four major satellite navigation brands in the UK, the most popular being TomTom followed closely by Garmin, Sony and Navman.
One recent feature we like which has been added to the latest models is Bluetooth, this feature enables the device to work as a hands free car kit with your mobile phone. In addition to built in Bluetooth, some Sat Nav systems now offer live traffic information this information is gathered using mobile phone movements across the country, if a lot of mobiles appear stationary then then GPS network lets the Sat Nav know that the area appears congested.

I bought my sat nav on new years eve and being in entertainment needing to get there fast, I am absoutely impressed. However, I did have the opportunity to borrow a Garmin from friends in the past and found it easy to use. |

The Sony web page says the map for this model is available on DVD but when you click the link to purchase it you cannot. I rang a Sony dealer and they said they couldn''''t supply the update DVD with the maps. |
