Freestanding Cookers
When choosing the right range cooker for you and your family, there are many features to take into consideration. Your cooker is a very important part of your kitchen and indeed your life! Size
The size of the oven/cooker is very important for two reasons. The first being the dimensional size to fit into your kitchen. Do you need a freestanding cooker or an integrated oven? The size must also depend on the amount of food you cook. The option of a single oven or a double oven is also available.
Fuel Type
The fuel type available is also important. You need to find out whether you have a gas or electric supply to your cooker which will determine the type you need. With a gas cooker, the hob, oven and grill are all fuelled by gas which tends to keep food more moist whilst cooking as well as provide instant heat and optimum heat control. Electric cookers tend to cook quicker and more evenly and do not require pre-heating like the gas alternative. Another option available is a Dual Fuel Cooker which combines the two above options by providing instant heat and control along with cooking speed.
Oven Type
There are a variety of oven types such as conventional, fan, multi-function or an oven with a grill combined or a separate grill. A range of features are available with these types like touch controls, electronic controls, self cleaning and wok burners.
Essential extras
Once you have chosen a suitable oven/cooker, there are a range of essentials that you will require to complete your package. These include a hood, extractor fan, splash back and hood filters. Hoods with extractors are available in a range of colours to match your cooker and kitchen and will ensure that smells are removed and also ensure that your kitchen is kept clean. Changing your filter regularly will also assist with this.
