Yamaha Ysp 800 Tv Speakers
User Reviews of the Yamaha YSP-800 TV Speakers
I found the YSP800 a "doddle" to set up. To test it's sonic capabilities, I chose the last of "The Lords of the Ring" trilogy. The "impression" of surround sound is initially impressive, but the quality of the actual sound produced makes them fatiguing after a while. I have a sub-woofer attached. This is an absolute necessity as the bass produced from the YSP800 is limited. Listening to a CD in "stereo" mode confirmed my reservations about sound quality - quite poor. If space is at a premium, and you have no other option, then buy for it's compact nature. You could spend the same amount (£499) on seperates and get decent sound quality.
Pros:
Setting up.
Surround sound "impession".
Cons:
Sound quality - poor and unclear, especially in "stereo" mode (ie listening to cds).
good dvd movies sound, able to beam at diferent types of wall (even you doors can do the job) . CD sound is a letdown, the 21 midrange drivers does able to give a actual stereo sound. THE 2 bass drivers even can handle any low bass when comes to drum sound likes kitaro japanese drums music
