Yamaha CDRHD1500 Cd Recorder
User Reviews of the Yamaha CDRHD1500 CD Recorder
In return for a painstaking amount of time and effort in learning how to use the unnecessarily complex, difficult, and unhelpful menus (not to mention the exhaustive manual), this piece of hardware delivers very little beyond what a half-decent media player can perform on a PC.
On a positive note, the sound quality is excellent, as is the style of the unit itself, but in terms of editing facilities, it leaves a lot to be desired, especially when attempting to modify or rectify album listings. Indeed, some procedures, such as deleting tracks from an album, simply did not work in accordance with the manual''s instructions.
The real problem with this device however, comes with the transfer of data from the hard disc itself on to digital-audio CD-Rs. Firstly, it will not allow the user to make digital copies of digital recordings (only analog). Secondly, any recording from external sources (i.e. mini-disc) can only be in analog form, resulting in individual tracks not being recognised. Thirdly, the disc drive is very sensitive, and consequently slow and cumbersome, when reading anything other than commercially produced CDs.
For what is essentially a complicated and difficult-to-use jukebox, the price tag is way beyond what should be acceptable as value-for-money.
