I bought this unit to combat the ever increasing amount of power surges of the mains power. My pc would be switched off and need to run diagnostics upon rebooting and I just had visions of potentially losing valuble data and possibly reinstalling Vista OS if it continued. Since installing the UPS I have had no more problems even when my wife accidentally tripped the sockets mcb, my pc,Terastation and monitor stay on giving me time to either do a controlled shutdown or restore mains power.
