Sony Vaio Vgn FS315B
User Reviews of the Sony Vaio Vgn FS315B
im giving this a 5 star to balance the previous review. whilst i can confirm a lot of it is true, its sony policy not the fs315b thats at fault. mine is stylish fast and 8 months in 100 % reliable. i made correct choice.
Mine was defective straight from the box (optical drive failure), Sony support was appalling. They would only offer a repair (check small print in terms and conditions:- says they reserve the right to use "reconditioned" parts)and then offer a 6 month warranty, it would have had a 12 month warranty before the repair.
Potential customers should also be aware that Sony VAIO's do NOT have any install disks, they merely use 7.5Gbytes of your hard drive to hold the data that should be on the install disks.
Also be aware that Sony use a "proprietary" version of Windows XP, that has VAIO Controls incorporated within it.
If you remove the installed OS and replace it with the Full Microsoft version of XP, Guess what? your warranty is now void.
